- MY STORY -
Simon spent six years at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York studying acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, followed by post graduate studies in oncology, respiratory diseases and treatment of stroke at the Chengdu University hospital in China. Simon worked in the NHS at St Leonard's hospital and a GP surgery in Hackney as well as working in palliative and end of life care for 15 years in hospices in Darlington and as therapies manager at St Joseph's Hospice, East London. For many years Simon was a visiting lecturer, clinical supervisor at University of Westminster.
- WHAT I CAN TREAT -
Simon works from home attracting clients looking for support with fertility, both male and female, often working with couples undergoing in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICIS). Other conditions people come for traditional Chinese medicine include - stress and anxiety, poor sleep, menstrual symptoms, skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne. Allergic rhinitis - hay fever, asthma, sinusitis. Muscular skeletal presentations, for example, low back pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and other forms of tendinitis. After travelling in northern Pakistan, India, Nepal, Thailand, and working in Taiwan, Simon headed off to explore China and Tibet. Fascinated by Chinese culture, Tibetan Buddhism and the food of Sichuan province - two of his favourite dishes making regular appearances on the dining room table at Turnstone House are - Fish Fragrant Aubergine 魚香茄子 and Mapo Tofu 麻婆豆腐. Simon decided to study traditional Chinese medicine.
- TREATMENTS -
Simon will often combine elements of TCM into a treatment such as acupuncture, massage, moxibustion techniques, cupping and Chinese herbal medicine. He is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM).
